And let it all unfurl
Into broken remnants
Smile like you mean it
And let yourself let go
Cos it's all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in
I tried to live alone
But lonely is so lonely, alone
So human as I am
I had to give up my defenses
So I smiled and tried to mean it
To let myself let go
Cos it's all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in
Cos it's all in the hands of a bitter, bitter man
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in [x2]
Say goodbye
In any other world
You could tell the difference

"I never ever, I forget my story.
My face is not sad, but sometimes, I am sad."
Mika : "There is a little spoken introduction that many people may miss.
It's a family friend of mine who lost her eye during the war in Lebanon and I realized in everyone's life there comes one point, or several points, where something happens and you have to completely change the way you have lived your life because of one event.
And it really makes you re-adjust and rethink and rejudge parts of your life all over again.
That happens to some people in a dramatic way like Rafa who lost both her eye and her husband within six months. Or it can be in a much quieter way like when you are 22-years-old and you finally leave university after being in education all your life or when you lose your job.
I wanted to put that in the song, because when you're 68 or 14, it's still the same feeling and it's still just as hard.
I wanted to try to capture that quite difficult period that people have to go through at least once in their life."
It's one of my favorites. I don't know how you relate to it, or whether you relate to it or not, but, i can relate to it in more than one ways.
My take on the song is , when you are made to face the HARSH REALITY (and someday you definitely will, if you haven't as yet ) , when you just feel helpless, don't try to control it because certain things/situations are just irrepressible .SO, do not let yourself be bowled over and get caught up in that situation, learn to move on, let go, be strong and try your best to get over it, rub it off and Smile Like You Mean it.
After all, you won't know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.Let's see it this way, Such situations would just help you become more resilient and prepare you to face similar situations coming your way.
That's Life ! And...... It's frikkin' BEAUTIFUL , all the bitterness you had/have to swallow , It sure as hell is worth IT.
You'll see ! :)

(worries never get us anywhere, except, probably therapy sessions with psychiatrists ?!) :P
