Lesson Listing

Made a list of a few things I learned in the recent past which were worthy of noting down and then filtered it to make another list of lessons learnt that I thought were worth noting and sharing.

1. You don’t really know what a plant actually looks like until you have attempted to draw one.

2.Getting a college degree is overrated. Birthdays, too.

3. To be able to feel compassion is a luxury for some people. You’ll often find them at traffic lights.

4. Beating yourself up over anything is a waste of time.

5. You can never not have any haters. You could transform yourself into Beyonce and there will still be that one person who can’t deal with your awesomeness.

6. Music is the highest form of art ever created. It has the power to make the numbest man feel emotions again. Music rules all.

7. We are all connected to each other in some way or another. If I had to illustrate this, I’d draw a spider web. Hence, "One man's sorrow will hurt us all. One man's joy will make everyone smile."

8. When I started to write this post, I had only three points in mind. But when I actually started penning it down, more points started coming to mind. Et voila, lesson learned: the first step is the most important step in order to establish any kind of a venture. You don’t necessarily need to see the whole picture, one stroke at a time is good enough. A.k.a. overcoming your doubts is imperative.

9. Lonerism is not equal to depression. It is often seen in such a negative light. I did too, a while back. But I’ve learnt that it is an excellent way to reflect  or gain perspective on things and to un-clutter the mind from all the chaos caused by the information that is constantly thrown at us in this day and age.

10. Binge eating is as unhealthy as consuming large amounts of alcohol to drown the sorrows. It’s only a temporary joyous feeling followed by the world’s worst hangover or obesity in case of the binge eater.

11.  Your best piece of art or writing today, might seem atrocious a few years from now. But that’s a good thing, cause it means that you’re getting better. Much like our fashion sense.

12. It is completely ok to not like/do things that most people like/do. That’s what makes you stand out from the crowd. That's what gives you the edge. That's what makes you, You.
