Good Life Recipe

Sharing my good life with you guys. Although there were some football matches that made me want to pull a big chunk of my hair this weekend. But I quickly got over it (make believing) with Cheesecake. Better pull out a big fork and indulge than have a bald spot, no? Thanks to Indigo Deli, Mumbai and my ever so adorable kid brother. :) Yay!

Update #5

Slow and steady is the mantra for my book project. Because, I don't want to complete it in a hurry just because I HAVE to get done with it. I just can't be that way. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I'm going to edit a few illustrations I did initially because I don't want to half-ass it. And besides, every project or venture you're working on, is like your child. Now would you let your baby go to school without his/her water bottle? NO. If you do forget, you find a way to provide them with a water bottle because you don't want them to be thirsty. You want to provide them with utmost care and attention and love that you could possibly give. Similarly, this project needs attention to details. Hence the decision to revisit the old illustrations. So yes, Project completion: 65%.

Anyway, I have another sneak peek!  Although, the illustration is not used in the same context in the book as I've shown below, but here it means that the ladder to your dreams will have obstacles and constraints but you've just gotta keep persevering! Never let the obstacles be the reason for you to stop climbing up the ladder, or to fall off and never get back up. So, there! A few words of motivation from me to me and you, if you need them for some reason! Happy climbing, lovely souls! :)

Fierce Femme

This inspired the below illustration.

This illustration was not illustrated digitally.
I painted it with markers and pencil colors and later
scanned it for refining.

Gym Uncles

Yes, I go to the gym and observe what all the uncles are doing. Wait here, while I get myself tested. On a serious note though, I don't mean to offend any kind of uncles. In fact I think it's pretty cool that The Uncles these days are into fitness, I mean I'm here struggling to get out of bed in the morning, and LOOK AT THEM COOL DUDES, except pervy uncle, you must stop. Also, the fifth type is my fave uncle. Do you see these uncles at your gym? Or am I the special one *insert sarcy emoji here*..?

Update #4

Coffee/Tea to drink, books to read, calligraphy to practice, such reasons to be happy!
Also, update on the book project- completion level: 70% .. but there are going to be a few edits in the initial pages, because some of it makes me cringe now. You know that feeling when you wrote/painted/posted something a long time ago and you've changed/grown so much since then that it now makes you want to cringe? That. So some of the initial pages might need changes to be in sync with the current style. So, I might pull the completion level from 70% to 60% again. Let's see. Anyway, "drink and be merry", lovely souls! :)

Too Full!

Because I couldn't sleep, and was too full of  hand lettering inspiration.
So, I let some out. :)

Update #3 Error 404

Yes, that's what happens to your brain when you get too much of something. At a stretch. So, I kinda hit a dead-end where my brain refused to respond, what people often refer to as 'Creative Block'. It's a myth. It doesn't mean you can't think creatively anymore, it is just a sign for you to stop what you've been doing for a bit and maybe channel your creativity to something else. Your creativity cells are still as many as before but they just need some refreshments. SO, coming to the point, since I had been working non-stop at my book project (Completion level:60%), my creative brain cells got tired. Therefore, I decided to get them some refreshments by painting other things like..

Also watched Finding Dory.. that' why!

Update #2

Hanging in there. I think this illustration from the book best explains my situation right now, and also kinda makes me feel better about how far I've come. I do have a feeling that I might not reach the 80%, BUT I am trying. Even though I don't complete 80% I'm still gonna hit somewhere closer to it. At least this unrealistic goal setting has me "In the Zone". So I will complete this project sooner than I was going to before I set the deadline! Much positivity, such motivation. #letsdothis #powerthrough

Update #1

So far too much pressure and self loathing. But we shall overcome! And persevere.
Dear Unrealistic Deadline, I'm coming for you.. *throws blank papers in the air in slo-mo for dramatic effect*  Multiple s
elf doubts, self cursing, and much caffeination later..

BTS

Hi, You!
So I have been working on this project since what feels like a decade (no really, it's been a long, long time). And after a lot of procrastination, blame games and excuses (Creativity Blocks) I've only finished 40% of it. But honestly, I'm glad that it's even come this far. Thanks, Universe and a lot of amazing people who are a part of this progress (including me, of course). Yes, thanking myself for not giving up and keeping at it. Anyway, I have set a kind of unrealistic deadline for myself- to be able to finish illustrating at least up to 80% by the end of this weekend. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS I THINKING. So anyway, I'm putting this out there in the universe and on this blog to make it more real than just a part of the Planner-on-my-wall (written in pencil, which I could just as easily erase). This way, I can push myself harder and be answerable to whoever has read this post ( even if there aren't any in this world, there are are a few people in my imaginary world). So, yes! I'll be answerable to whomsoever it may concern. I'll keep you updated on how far I've gone with it, even if you don't care (but i hope you do). Also, here's a part of some BTS..

P.S. I'm a big believer of energy and vibes, so you know, do send some 'Positive' and 'Amen' vibes my way, for encouragement purposes. Yes?

Thanks,
S
